Band on the Run - Audio Essay
University Audio Project
I was tasked with completing an Audio Essay based on an artist or album. As a music junkie, this was such a fun task to complete. One of my favorite artists of all time is Paul McCartney, with his fifth studio album Band on the Run being one of my all-time favorite albums. This audio essay is the result of extensive research on the production of this album, and some of the events surrounding it. We learn more about the breakup of The Beatles, the challenges of recording this album, and little quirks about the process you may not have known.

A little art goes a long way. Keep up with Kristen McGinty and Michael Kay Smith as they talk art, both historical and current influences. https://www.prismacast.com/
My main role was editor of the podcast. With Kristen and Michael Kay living in different locations, we harnessed the power of Zoom and Discord (before COVID made it cool) to allow multi-location recording. I was able to sometimes chime in and interact with the hosts while recording episodes. After the recording wrapped, I was able to take their individual audio tracks, layer them, and edit each track individually as needed. This allowed me to have a tremendous amount of control of how the final podcast sounded. If someone was louder than another, I could adjust their volume independently or run a compressor on the track.
